About
American Legion Post 1919 in Lincoln, NE, operates just like any other American Legion post, but Legionnaires here have made a habit of “thinking outside the box” to set them apart and make the post successful.
For instance, one of the first things you notice about the post is that it meets monthly at the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Post 3606. For most, having an American Legion Post inside of a VFW is not something you see every day, but Post 3606 has been gracious and we appreciate their willing to host another group of veterans.
Post 1919 is a Centennial Post and was formed in the summer of 2019. The story of how American Legion Lincoln Post 1919 came to be, all started from the idea "change is good" and the expression "that is the way it has always been done" is not a good motto for veterans organizations.

Although we are a young post, we are a post with motivated veterans. One of our short term goals is to build a post home in south Lincoln. A place where veterans and their families can meet, enjoy a meal and socialize. It is important that we involve families and our community. The American Legion supports a variety of youth programs and as an organization we place a high value on building up and educating the next generation.

Our member numbers keep rising every month. We are very proud to say we have a variety of members, male and female, various ages, various branches and various conflicts.

We know there is a large population of veterans and their families in the Lincoln area. We need your help in letting them know we are here and the door is open!
Our mission is to implement the goals, aspirations, dreams, peace and blessings for our country, friends and families embodied in our preamble below.
